In-Person Events: Friday Evening Talk, Saturday Retreat and Sunday Conversation (Cumberland, MD)

Hi friends, I’ve been invited by First Presbyterian Church of Cumberland Maryland to spend a weekend in their community, leading several events that are open to the public and that I hope you will find appealing:

• Friday Evening, October 23: I’ll be speaking on the topic of “To Be God’s Pride and Joy” at the Community Café. This is an event in solidarity with Pride Weekend.
• Saturday, October 24: Retreat day at First Presbyterian: “For ALL the Saints: Spirituality from Surprising Saints” where we’ll look at some of the eccentric, unusual or just plain odd folks who exemplify divine love and inspire us to live our own lives of extravagant compassion;
• Sunday, October 25: “Coffee with Carl” adult forum at the church: an unprogrammed hour for conversation and contemplative community.
